The people at GEN9 define our role as innovative problem solvers. We don't do me-too. Whether it's re-missioning missile defense technology to detect cancer, improving communication and collaboration in the enterprise by using concepts developed to test and maintain our nuclear arsenal or redesigning off-the-shelf consumer technology to solve vital health care problems, we don't spend a lot of time viewing the world from the inside of "the box". The problems are too important and finding the solutions are too much fun to confine ourselves to conventional approaches or thinking. ABOUT US
We are a small group of researchers, engineers, designers, inventors and hackers. Our research is principally funded through grants from the National Institutes of Health and the National Institute on Aging. We collaborate with Stanford University School of Medicine's Healthy Aging Research and Technology Solutions (HARTS) and the University of Cincinnati's Digital Futures Research Labs in developing and testing our designs.
WHAT WE'RE WORKING ON
At GEN9, we're trying to solve some of the biggest healthcare challenges facing the world today. The planet's population is aging rapidly. What was once a problem only in the developed world is now confronting everyone, everywhere. With this dramatic demographic shift comes challenges that we've never faced before. How does a rapidly declining population of working-age people care for a rapidly growing population of seniors? How do we maintain the quality and dignity of their lives as they age and as they require increasing amounts of care? And how do we pay for it?
We believe that our solutions will soon comprise one of the biggest and most important consumer and commercial segments in the world. We’ve only just started, but we already know that every product we build requires imagination, hard-earned skills, dedication, and a focus on pragmatic solutions that can be realistically implemented at an affordable cost. CosmosAuracle
CosmosAuracle is our latest hardware R&D project, supported by the NIH and NIA, designed to provide caregivers of cognitively impaired seniors with a plug-and-play solutions to assist them in providing a safe and caring environment for the ones they love.
